July 19th 1982 when he was taken away from us by cancer.
My Da was only 43 years old far too young to be taken from us.
He worked for BRS, SRS as a truck driver HGV
We lived in Easterhouse, Glasgow at the time.
He had 4 brothers Ally, Wullie, Jimmy & George and 1 Sister Susie.
He has the 6 daughters Ann, Liz, Berta, Ellen, Martha & me Jacqui. He had 2 sons James & John although he like my Ma had Spence who the treated as a son and we all call him our brother.
There are far too many Grand kids & Great Grand Kids as well as Great Great Gran kids to list here.
Although I was only 10 when my Da was taken away from us I still remember everything about him.
I miss him just as much today as I did when he died. I missed him especially when like every girl thats getting married who dreams of her Da walking her down the aisle I never had that. Although I knew he was with me. I wish my Da could have met my husband and kids but as I said before he is with us all looking after us.
I remember one thing especially about my Da every Thursday he would send us kids out even if it was raining or whatever and my Ma would be sent to the Bingo. Thursday was my Da's night for all his programs on TV.
He would even play with us on the path sliding down the street in the winter when it would snow. He loved his music and would like to dance as well.
He was a very special man and had to have had the patients of a saint to put up with 7 females all under 1 roof :)
You will always be remembered Da and will always be special to me and the rest of the family.
Look after my Ma now that you are both together again.

Remembering you
Your time on earth seemed all too brief
because I wanted you in my life forever.
And although I really miss you,
in my heart I know that you are at peace.
Still, countless times throughout the day
I find myself remembering you.
Although I cannot see or hear you,
I know that you are with me.
I'll feel you in the warmth of the summer sun.
I'll see you in the brilliance of autumn leaves.
You'll be beside me in the peacefulness of a gentle snowfall and rejoice with me at the emergence
of the first flowers of spring.
I'm thankful for the times we shared

My Granda Restrick
Hiya Granda, what's it been, 26yrs since I last spoke to you? :P I was 2 yrs old when you left and didn't get to know you as I grew up. From the stories I have been told from My mum and my granny, I was always with you :)and I'm sure we would have got on. I hope I make you proud. I have given you 2 great grandkids and I will be sure to tell them about their great granda Restrick.

Ma Da
My favourite memory of ma da -
When I was young I could get up in the morning for work, so I was made to sleep on the couch, In the morning ma Da would wake me up with a cuppa tea and tell me I had 5 mins to get myself ready or he was leaving without me.
I would get into the car and the first thing I would say ' Is the heating on?' and he would ask me to roll him a fag knowing full well I would have given him one of mine and every morning the Nolan sister would come on the radio singing 'I'm in the mood for dancing' and he would sing at the top of his voice knowing full well that I am not a morning person and preferred my peace, but Im glad for my memories and I wouldnt have them any other way. This is how I like to remember Ma Da.
